Greetings

I am Hiroshi Yukawa, Team Leader, Quantum Regenerative and Biomedical Engineering Team, Quantum Life Medical Engineering Group, Institute for Quantum Life Science. Thank you for visiting our website.

It has been four years since I arrived at QST. When I first arrived at QST, we were greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the start-up of our laboratory was delayed, but with the support and cooperation of many people, we were able to overcome the difficulties. The number of laboratory members, including myself, has grown from three at the time of its inception to a total of 20 by 2024, including the students I supervise. The Quantum Life Science Laboratory is a world pioneer in quantum life science, which combines the two fields of "quantum" and "life". My team will contribute to society by researching and developing new nano quantum sensors and measurement technologies, innovative quantum diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, and applying them to cutting-edge medicine, especially regenerative medicine.

We look forward to your continued guidance and encouragement.

Professional History

After completing a master's degree in Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Engineering in 2002, I joined Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. where I was engaged in drug development and research on immunostimulating foods at the Central R&D Laboratory. In 2006, I began research on regenerative medicine in conjunction with the establishment of an endowed chair in the Nagoya University School of Medicine. In 2010, I graduated from Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine and earned Ph.D. in Medicine. In 2011, I earned Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo. In 2012, I moved to Nagoya University, where I was engaged in research on the development of iPS cell and regenerative cell imaging technology using nano quantum sensors, as well as student education and research guidance. In 2020, I joined the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) by cross-appointment.
